Home Sweet Home Pet Care has been caring for pets in their own homes since 1999. I specialize in inner Southeast Portland/Milwaukie and have many loyal clients and references, including Vets! My background is in healthcare and I have a particular affinity for elderly pets who need medications or special care. My business is based on the belief that my client's needs are of the utmost importance.
I live in the Ardenwald neighborhood of Milwaukie with my husband, our dog, 2 cats and bunny. I have special expertise in the care of rabbits as well as chickens which are becoming quite common in our neighborhoods!
I am reliable, professional, caring, knowledgeable, trustworthy. You will arrive home from your time away with contented animals who have been well cared for.
I visit your home and pets, give them love and attention, exercise and reassurance along with their meals and any other special needs. My goal is for them to feel safe and secure while you are away and for you to have a worry-free experience on your trip or during your workday.
Because the business has grown so much, I have now added a wonderful woman to help serve more clients. Please read about Elaine below. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry!

Elaine has spent years training corporations and individuals in wellness practices and developing programs for these settings. She served as an Ombudsman and Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Associate Director for Portland State University. Elaine has lived with and cared for senior animals and is well qualified to administer to their needs. Elaine is reliable, compassionate and is a welcome addition to our team!
Leslie is a certified master gardener, meditation facilitator, domestic engineer, and dog caregiver. She was born and raised in Portland and moved into the Sellwood neighborhood with her husband in 2015. They share their home with an elderly parent, and two dogs, all of whom enjoy living within walking distance of the many amenities the area has to offer.
Dogs have always been an important part of the family for Leslie. She has had the honor of adopting nine dogs (so far) during her adult life. Some of them were rescues and some were raised from puppyhood. In her opinion, “Dogs are some of the best teachers in humor, patience, unconditional love and living in the moment! Plus they are huge sources of comfort and stress reduction.”
With a rewarding career in the healthcare field for 33 years, Leslie would be the first to tell you that caring for animals requires a profound sense of awareness since they cannot speak and they do not know human rules. With compassion and vigilance, she is delighted to be there with your precious family members when you cannot be.
